Is it better for a 60 year old to retain his mortgage free property or sell up and rent to release some cash?

Emigrating to Australia. Do we sell our house in Uk or rent it out?

Posted by admin | Sell and Rent Back | Thursday 23 April 2009 1:45 pm

My husband wants to keep our house in Uk and rent it out whereas I think it would be best to sell it to give us the money that we would need when in Australia to rent/buy property there once settled.
Thanks for all your comments..

My husband is the one that has pushed for us to emigrate. My oldest son of 18 is eager to move but my 14 year old son is not. I am also keen to emigrate.

sell my house & rent it back any suggestions?

I have financial problems and my mortgage is too high!  Does anyone have any sell and rent back solutions or any suggestions of property companies you have used for a quick sale in the past.  I know many of these companies often offer below the market valuation, but I have been told that they offer a fair price for the property based on a turbulent market.

I have lived in my home in CA for over five years now. I want to rent it for a couple years and when the market goes up I plan to sell the home. My Question is: Do I have to pay taxes on the home after renting it? Thanks!

i am looking to sell my house and rent it back

If I buy a house so that my daughter can live in it, can I charge her rent and then sell it to her later?

My daughter won't be able to buy a house for years. If we bought one and her friends paid rent, could we sell it, cheaply, to her in a few years at the price we paid today? What penalties would I have to pay? Inheritance taxes etc?
I live in Essex and she now lives in Norfolk with her boyfriend. She met him through university and isn't gonna come back so that she can live rent free!

I knew I had lost her when she said that we could turn her bedroom into a games room for her brother!!!

In todays market, she'll be 50 before she can afford a one bedroomed hovel in a bad part of town

Does anyone recommend the sell your home to rent it back?

Specifically Buy-house.co.uk or Quick Sale.

Has anyone used one of those ’sell and rent back you house’ companies in the UK (NE)? Recommend or not?
